I gave a generous rating just because I used to come to this place with my family almost every Sunday and it brings back some good memories. I absolutely love fajitas and Las has the best fajitas I have had. Burritos are also real tasty. Good flavor. The service lately has been real bad. Slow and not real good on checking in to see if we needed anything. I had to go get extra napkins for my table which should never happen. The chips and salsa were cold the last time I was there. That really bummed me out. Because Las always seemed to have the best chips and salsa. I like how spacious and clean Las is. For college students the best time to go is Thursday at happy hour. It's burger night and Las has good drinks specials on Thursdays. I know, burgers at a Mexican restaurant but they are real good and real affordable. Overall this restaurant is pretty good. I just hope in the future they make some adjustments and get this place running like it used to. Also if your a dessert lover get their deep fried ice cream. You won't be sorry.

Wow. Pretty sure everything they served us came out of a can... I think that says it all.

excellent service received here last Friday. The food quality was a bit off from past visits and I agree totally with other reviewers that the chips and salsa need a total makeover.... This chain is NOT the same as I remember from the past and I truly hope they reverse their direction and are not a casualty as many others.....

Friendly staff who are mainly college students that struggle to earn more tips. The food gave some people food poisoning. The restaurants in Mt. Pleasant are 75% below average.

I have mixed feelings on this place. On one hand, the staff is extremely nice and attentive. On the other the chips and salsa are terrible. Bland, flavorless, and no heat at all. I love me some chips and salsa when at a Mexican restaurant. The food on the other hand was passable. I didn't mind my nachos supreme at all and my friend didn't mind his burrito. Both came on giant plates. Wow, lots of food. Prices? They are cheap. On Sunday's they have $2.50 craft beers. Good deal. I think my whole bill was $12 with nachos supreme and 2 beers. Still I can't get past the chips and salsa being terrible. So therefore 2 stars.

Great food for a reasonable price! Like any Mexican restaurant they bring you out some chips and salsa (ask for the old hot if you enjoy spicy.) I always tend to go with the chicken soft shell tacos or the chicken fajitas. The sopa de Fideo is also good anytime, it is a beef broth soup with noodles and onions! I've been eating here for years! Oh and they also have daily drink and good specials! Enjoy!

It was a nice place to go to after a long day of hanging around Mt Pleasant. My food was supposed to have pork. There was some, but it was mostly onions and sauce. The rest in our party were happy with their meals. Our chips were good-not stale-but I will agree that the mild salsa is pretty thin. Overall it was OK. Not fabulous, but not so bad that I'd trash them. Other than Tim Hortons this is the only place I'd ever been to in Mt Pleasant (More stoplights per capita than any town I've ever been in), so listen to the locals before you listen to me.

My boyfriend got the La Senorita Special and I had specifically asked for a chicken wrap with no seasoning on the chicken. The waitress assured me that the chicken would come with no seasoning. When I got my order, it was so spicy that I had to send it back. I ended up splitting a salmon dinner with someone else at our table. The Senorita Special was a huge portion of tacos, burritos, refried beans, and enchilada. My BF said it all tasted the same, there was no difference in any of the foods. The burrito was mostly filled with lettuce with a skimpy serving of meat. The food was cold and bland. The salmon was dried out and not very appetizing. We were disappointed with their food. The waitress was very forgetfull, she had forgotten about our apps and peach tea. I had to go find her 20 minutes after she had taken our order, to see where our tea and apps were. We will never eat here again. Next time, I will just go across the street to Q'doba.

Very friendly staff, but you can surely make more authentic and tasty mexican food at home without trying very hard. The salsa tastes like a cheap supermarket brand. The vegetables in the fajitas appear to be defrosted from the frozen section (!), and the tortillas are limp and bland. They could improve a lot just by using better ingredients, but even then I don't think I'd be running back. It's a shame -- the place seems to be run by nice folks, and we could surely use more mexican food options in the area, but the food here falls way short.

Went to La Senorita this weekend for a bit of early Cinco de Mayo/Birthday celebrating. My parents live in Mt. Pleasant and I seem to remember this restaurant being far better than it is now. The chips and salsa are not good at all. The mild salsa is extremely off, the hot is ok, and the verde is alright. We literally had stale chips - NOT a good sign. We ordered the taco platter, the bean burrito, the supreme burrito and the chicken garcia chimi. They were all ok at best. I really did not enjoy the flavor of the chicken in the taco platter, very bland and really almost seemed like it was only seasoned with salt and pepper. Everyone else said their food was ok, nothing great. I would definitely say that Matt's word "Amexican" is a great way to describe it...I think they call themselves Tex-Mex but, it's not even that. Although they are a Mexican restaurant they have no Mexican beers (Dos Equis, Negra Modelo, etc) on tap. The do have a great selection of margaritas that are delicious! They do also have Jarritos which are great. I would not recommend going here...in Mt. Pleasant there is also Qdoba and Los Palaminos if you're looking for "Mexican" - either of those are better choices.

I went here with my girlfriend for dinner one night. It wasn't all bad. I will say the service was pretty good. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food. We received the chips and salsa. The chips were good. Salsa was okay. It didn't taste fresh. We also ordered a side of guacamole. It looked like it was pureed and had a funny taste to it. It almost tasted like it came out of a bag and it not freshly made. For main entree, I ordered my default tex mex dish (Fajitas). They were sizzling, and were okay. I definitely had better. My girlfriend ordered the shredded beef tacos. The meat tasted good and it wasn't bad. All in all, it was okay, but I probably won't be back any time soon.

Meh......this place just isn't that memorable. First off, the chips & salsa were not good. This is a bad start for any Mexican restaurant in my book. You have to win me over with the chips before there can be a love affair. Well this was kinda a bad first date. The food was okay. I'm gonna call it "Amexican" food, because it was hardly authentic. The only thing keeping this from being a 2 star is the fact that they had a good selection of margaritas, and they were tasty.

i have gone back multiple times and every time there's either hair in my food or they get my order wrong. I ultimately stopped going there.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
